For over 50 years now Mostostal Pulawy has been developing its business activities in Poland and abroad. During this period Poland has undergone a number of political and economic transformations, which influenced the market dynamics and growth of businesses. Our team, the human capital, and a long-established expertise as a general contractor constitute our advantages, the Company's flagships.
The year 2008 is going to be a special period for us. Let me remind you of some events that have proved essential for our Company. This year will witness the 10th anniversary of the corporate changes which introduced Mostostal into a Joint-Stock Company structures. In 1997 we established the Technical Office in Germany, which gives us an opportunity to celebrate this "export" event in the nearest future. For three years now we have been operating two Subsidiaries: Mazap and Energezap, which allow our Company to extend its market offer. We are at the threshold of the 45th anniversary of the founding of our Company, which makes us one of the most experienced construction companies in Poland. These are only the most important events in this year's calendar.
The beginning of a year is a proper time to assess and review the ended period and plan the activities for the coming 52 weeks of work. Lately, we have been very busy indeed. Contracts implemented both in Poland and abroad (including Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland) demanded the most rigorous discipline and the highest quality of our services. We may again be proud to summarise our efforts, all the more so that they directly correspond to the satisfaction of our Customers and financial results of our Company. The most important contracts of the previous year include the Pruszkow Velodrome, the Bridge in Pulawy, the Bridge on the Pisa River, Electrofilters at Zaklady Azotowe in Pulawy and EC Siekierki in Warsaw, the roofing of platforms at the Polonia Stadium in Warsaw (in Poland), the installation of waste incinerator boiler in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, the installation of a boiler in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, the assembly of a boiler in Permnitz, Germany, (abroad) and many others.
The latest developments show an increased synergy effect within the capital group Mostostal Warszawa. Owing to the well-structured investment policy and efficient management the Consortium has been posting growing financial figures. Today, the market demands large-scale investment projects, favouring organizations of a high potential and a strong capital base, which is why a good communication and deepened cooperation may yield the expected results.
Our expertise, timely approach to contracts, business fair play and Corporate Social Responsibility policy have been recognized by organizations granting certificates and awards. We accept each of them with respect and satisfaction, as they provide us with incentives to ever increasing efforts.
On October 23rd, 2007 Mostostal Pulawy was awarded the Steelworks Manufacturer Certificate by the Polish Chamber of Steelworks. The award was handed in at the annual conference organized by the Chamber, this year in Jozefow near Warsaw.
Our Company has been again recognized for its Corporate Social Responsibility policy. This time, we were counted among the elite society of sports sponsors in the Lublin region. The awards ceremony was held on January 4th, 2008.
In the ranking published by the "Puls Biznesu" Daily in Poland, our Company was again one of those awarded from the Lublin region. On December 19th, 2007 the Musical Theatre in Lublin witnessed the ceremony of the Business Gazelles Award. It was not for the first time that our Company won this award.
"We build for the future" is the short version of our mission statement, which we decidedly pursue. The ongoing care of brand building and development of the human capital of our Company allow us to achieve the set priorities more and more effectively. The most essential tasks for the nearest future include the upgrading and extension of the Steel Constructions Plant, enhanced acquisition of construction contracts in the chemical, power, environmental protection and sport construction sectors. Therefore, we are planning to recruit experts interested in jobs at the department of fabrication and assembly of industrial structures and installations.
The forecasts for this year are really promising, as we are preparing to complete a number of existing contracts and begin with new projects, including in the UK and France. Our strategy provides the grounds for a further dynamic growth of Mostostal Pulawy S.A. by fulfilling the expectations from Customers and from the new standards on the target markets. While introducing our Company to the New Year, another one in its history, I would like to stress that we will put all our efforts to ensure that the nearly 50-year tradition and experience make us proud and ready to achieve even better quality of our services.
